Mother's Day Dinner
Our monthly meeting this month is our annual Mother’s Day dinner! This dinner is an RSVP only event and will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm at Gladchuk Brothers Restaurant. The cost for this dinner is $15.00 payable on that night. Please bring cash (exact change). Come on out and enjoy a dinner without the kids and husbands. The restaurant is located across the street from Rita's Italian Ice store on Patrick Street.
Directions: From 15 South, take the Rt 40 East exit. You will be heading towards Frederick City and not towards the Golden Mile. When the road splits (you’ll see the pawn shop on your right), bear to the right (the road becomes a one way street). Get in the left hand lane - you’ll see Rita’s Ice then turn left either at the Comcast parking lot (many use it as a cut over), or you can turn left at the next light, and then another left back onto Patrick Street. Gladchuks is on the right- past the shopping center for Mexicali Cantina. They have a parking lot around back.
Yard Sale
Milisa Rollins
“WOW!”, “Fantastic”, “What deals”, “So organized!!”. These are just a few of the things heard at the sale. What a great sale! It ran so smoothly- thanks to all of our volunteers!! I have to give special recognition to those that worked 19+ hours- Milisa Rollins, Laura Graham, Nancy Farkas, Iyna Adams, Rita Bianchini, and Michelle Beach. I also want to thank Laura and Nancy for their involvement this sale before the sale that helped my stress tremendously! This was the first sale that I was calm. It was very strange… To all of the sellers who earned the 10%, thank you for finding the time to come and help. Things ran so smoothly and quickly! If you were standing around with nothing to do, it was merely because everyone worked so quickly! Also, a special shout out to Chuck Farkas and Paul Leatherman. Thanks so much for your brawn and your truck!!
By the time you read this, checks should be written. I will have them at the Mother’s Day dinner (with cards too) or they will be mailed out if you gave me a SASE. An email will go out detailing how to get your cards if you want them.
Please, please, please check your bin for items that are not yours. We had a few mixups of what to do with things that belonged to past sellers who weren’t selling at the sale. Contact Milisa if you have items that need to go back to their owners.
Numbers- We had 44 sellers and grossed approximately $13,400.00. That’s about $1,000 below last spring, but at that sale we had 56 sellers. So I think this sale was fantastic!! The weather was so beautiful and all of the shoppers were shocked and amazed how smoothly it all ran. They loved the bargains too!
If you have any ideas or are so excited about the sale that you’d like to help run it, please contact Laura Graham. The fall sale planning has already begun!
